A lot of creators are panicking about low views right now…

But honestly?TikTok hasn’t “stopped working.”It’s just rewarding different behaviour now.

The biggest shift I’m seeing in 2026 is this:

👉 TikTok is becoming more search-driven and retention-focused than ever before.

That means random posting, vague hooks, and trend-chasing without strategy are becoming less effective.

Here’s what I believe beginners should focus on NOW instead:

1. Stronger hooks matter more than follower count

TikTok is heavily rewarding watch time, replays, and completion rates.

If people scroll in the first 2–3 seconds… your reach drops fast.

Your opening line needs to instantly answer:

  • Who is this for?

  • What problem does it solve?

  • Why should they care?

  • Example:“Digital marketing for women over 40 who want extra income from home.”

That immediately tells the algorithm AND the viewer who the content is for.

2. TikTok SEO is now a huge growth tool

People are using TikTok like Google now.

So instead of vague captions… use searchable phrases like:

  • how to make money online

  • beginner digital marketing

  • side hustles for women over 40

  • digital products for beginners

Say the keywords in the video.Put them in text on screen. Add them naturally into captions.

3. Niche clarity wins in 2026

TikTok wants to understand EXACTLY who your content is for.

Creators trying to speak to everyone usually struggle.

Your audience should instantly understand:

✔️ what you help with

✔️ who you help

✔️ why they should follow you

For me that’s:Helping women over 40 learn beginner-friendly digital marketing and online income skills without overwhelm.

4. Original content is outperforming copied content

TikTok is rewarding authenticity and original perspectives more heavily now.

People don’t just want polished creators anymore. They want relatable creators.

That’s actually GOOD news for beginners.

Your real experiences, lessons, struggles, and progress are valuable content.

5. Consistency matters more than perfection

A lot of people spend weeks overthinking one video.

Meanwhile the creators growing fastest are:

  • testing content daily

  • improving hooks

  • learning audience behaviour

  • posting consistently

Momentum matters.

What I’d Focus On If Starting Again Today

If I was restarting TikTok in May 2026, I’d focus on:

✅ Searchable content

✅ Clear niche messaging

✅ Strong first 3 seconds

✅ Talking directly to one type of person

✅ Building trust instead of chasing virality

✅ Simple beginner-friendly offers

Because views alone don’t build a business.

Clear messaging and solutions do.

That’s exactly why I created The Beginner Blueprint Starter System and my free Skool community — to help beginners stop consuming endlessly and actually start building something online.

Your Blueprint. Your Business. Your Future.
